Quote # 1

Said by Dave

Page number 29

"Written words are rare in small villages like mine, and it is my right and obligation to send my stories into the world, even if silently, even utterly powerless"

I think that this quote relates to question number 6. I think that this quote relates to it because Dave explains in just a few words that he had small villages. I just pictured in my mind, Dave lived in a small village. I like how Dave explains how he wants to send his stories into the world even if they end up not being read or heard or seen. He still wants to write about it because its what is going on for him. He is still writing what is going on or what he thinks about it and how he feels.

Question: What are your opinions on this quote, if so explain?

Quote #2
Page 50 (said by Narator)

Now he searches for a solution. He begins to open drawers. I hear the rattle of silverware and worry that he might do something drastic. He opens five, six drawers and cabinets. Finally he emerges from the kitchen with a phone book and holds it over my head.

This quote in a way relates to 5. It relates to it because he was explaining he heard the rattle of what might have been going on or what was he looking for. All he really was looking for was a phone book. Later on they said what are you doing with that, I wondered why it was so bad. It is just a phone book but maybe its because there in this new place and they wanted to do things.

Question # 2: Why do u think he was looking for a phone book?

Quote no. 1: Response-I think your quote does relate to question 6, because it talks about his old village, and how his old village connected with his new life style. your significance to this quote is very detailed, and it shows me how passionate Valentino [Dave] is about publishing his books, so other peopl can see how is life was, compared to his life now.
Question no. 1: Answer: I think this quote is very sweet, and peaceful. I think this because he wants to tell the world what is happening to him and how is life is. Also he is very passionate about publishing this book.

Quote no. 2: Response-who was looking for the phone book, and who was there with him?i think it does relate to five, but not in a huge way. it was sort of like a mini-hardship.
question no. 1: Answer: Maybe he is using the phone book as a weapon. I do not know how to answer this question because of lack of information.
