Response: I thought that this quote related to question number 2. I thought this because it was about how his journey was and thats what the question is asking about what its like. I thought that this was about instead of to America it was to Eithiopia. I thought that this just described how long it took and about the river and group of travelers.
Character Judgement: I think that Valentino describes a lot when he is saying something. It seems like from the book when Valentino is talking he always describes it. So that we can understand what is actually going on in the book.
Question #1: Why do you think that all of them had waited and waited for eachother on the journey?
Quote # 2: In the middle of the tree i found a nest and in it, three small eggs. I didn't wait. I ate two of the eggs while still in the tree. I ate everything, the shell, the feathers inside, I ate it all before i could think.

Response #2: I thought this quote related to question # 3. I thought this related to it because since he was so hungry that he would eat anything. I thougth that this quote was very different but for some interesting reason it stood out to me, because it was different. I thought it was wierd how he would eat everything and especially an egg with the feathers and the shell. I can imagine how disguisting that might have tasted but since he was hungry he wanted to eat.
Character Judgement #2: I thought that this quote said a lot about Valentino, and what he had to do on his journey when it came to wanting food. It told me that he would do anything to get what he needed for more energy.
Question #2: Would you ever do what Valentino did, if not why (because if you were hungry wouldn't you want food to)?

Quote number 1: Response- I like the quote that you picked out, because it explains the hardships they went through during their lifetime. Although I think that this quote better relates to question number three, because number three is what their life was like in their homecountry, and that is what this quote was about.
Question number 1: Answer- The reason that everyone waited was because they had to cross The Nile Rive, and there was only two boats. They watched as three boys tried to swim across, but were takin in by the current, and were not seen again.
Quote number 2: Response- I find this quote sad because it sohws how desperate everyone is for food. Valentino was not the only person doing this, everyone else around him was also eating aggs, and some other people were plucking feathers off of baby birds and ating them. I think they had it really rough and were very hungry if they ate the eggs raw.
Question number 2: Answer- I think if I were that hungry I would do the same thing, but if I had a choice of anything else, I doubt that I would do that. Eating a live baby bird is not very tasty sounding, but if you're starving, then you have to do what you can to survive.
Quote 1: I like that you chose this quote because i shows that they had to travel a very far distance in a long time to get where they are, and how they weren't alone when they reached they river.
Question 1: Well I think that they wanted to be together so that they wouldn't have to stop and wory about where the rest of their group was or how they were doing.
Quote 2: This quote is a bit wierd but is also shows the hardsships he went through and what was necassary to survive.
Question 2: I wqould problaby not have eaten the featdhers or the shels i would have cooked the eggs.

Question#1: BECAUSE IF THEY DIDNT THEY ALL WOULD HAVE DIED A LOT FASTER.
Quote #2: I agree that he must of been starving. I cant imagine being that hungry and it must have tasted awful.
Question 2: I would in a heart beat. It may be gross but what ever you can do to survive, u have to do it.
