Final Post

Quote #1: On the night of our performance, the theater was full. There were eighteen different groups performing, from all over Kenya. Ours was the only troupe of refugees. I thank the lord that we performed well that night; we remembered our lines and under the lights, with all those seats , we still found a way to be present in the words and drama of the play we had written.

Response #1: I thought that this quote related to question number 3. I thought that this quote related to because it shows sort of what he did in Kenya. I thought this was a unique quote because it describes a lot of what was going on right then and what was going on in his head. I think that this was very descriptive on what he was thinking and how he said they wee the only refugees. I chose it because I thought that it was different from other ones and I liked how it descriibed a lot during it.

Character Judgement #1: From many of the things that I have read in this book most of it was obviously said by the author. From this quote I thought it was pretty strong and describing of what he was saying. I like really describing senatances because it gives good info. I think that the author did a good job of describing from what he felt to what was going on and more.

Question #1: Why do you think that he told us this information about the play?

Quote #2: Their questions swung from every simple questions about my name and hometown to more involved investigations of the dangers I had faced. I had been briefed by many other Lost boys about what questions to expect, but the ones they asked me varied slightly.

Response #2: This qote related to question number 4. I think it relates to it because this is something he (the author) had to go through when he came in. This quote stood out to me because it almost reminded me of the interrogations from class that we did. Because it describes what he was asked and how other boys would be asking him something like are they hard questions. I thought it just reminded me of how we were asked questions and how he was sort of interrogated.

Character Judgment #2: I liked how in this the author also talks about what was going on. I think that he likes ot tell a lot about what was going on in that very moment. I think from this book I really figured out how he likes to make sure we get every piece of info. I liked how in this book it was very descriptive and I think he wrote it very well.

Question #2: Do you agree with me when you think this quote sounded like the interrogation's in our class room? Why?

Quote #1: "I stand up and follow julian out of the emergency room and down the hallway. The floor smells of human feces."
Page 312 Said by: Valentino

Response: I thought that this related to question to number 5. I thought that this quote was a little different becuase of just how they described it. I thought that this was wierd how he said it was how it smelt like human feces, its nasty but I thought it was wierd how Valentino said it. I thought that this quote stood out to me just because of how it described it in justo ne short sentance. I always like short sentances that can describe a lot.

Character Judgement: I thought that Valentino is my favorite character in this book because he has a lot of different quotes that are in this book. I like his character because I feel like he is a well known character and I remember him always from the book because I always choose his quotes.

Q#1: Why do you think Valentino described it like this?

Quote #2: "This is a problem," he says, and I know its true.

Response: I liked this quote because it was just how he says it in the book. I thought this quote related to number 5 again. I thought this because this quote was said because they do not have enough money for the hospital. I thought it was sad how he said it like this is a problem and I know its true. I just thought it was sad he could not afford it. So then causing them not being able to go into the hospital or pay for anything

Character Judgement: I like achor achor because I also like how his quotes are. I liked this one because of how it really made me feel bad for them. And how they could not afford it. I just felt bad for them in this part of the book.

Q#2: What do you think when you read this quote?

Quote #1: As I ran closer to the vision of Moses, he seemed more and more a real Moses and not a vision of Moses, and my heart jumped around,as if looking for a way to exit my body
Said by: Valentino Page number: 270

Response: This quote has to do with question number three. It has to do with it because people in that place have to pretend to be dead because of all of the things going on. This is what the quote has to do with and the question. There why Valentino was there it says he could see Moses in his eyes while they were shut. While Valentino was there.

Character Judgement: I think that Valentino expresses how he feels in this book a lot. A lot of the quotes that I have are from him because I feel they express's the most out of him. In this quote I like how he describes how he saw moses and how he described it.

Question #1: Why do u think they pretend to be dead?

Quote #2: Valentino! It's Ajing! Call CNN and tell them that the war is on again!
Said by: Ajing Page number: 289

Response #2: This quote has to do with number 4 because in his home country the war is on again and he has to try to help friends their or they might die. I thought that this quote just showed how much Ajing still cares about the war. That he wants to call Valentino and tell him about it that they had to tell them (CNN) about it.

Character Judgment: I thought that this quote said a lot about Ajing because it showed how much he still cares about the war. Or how he still cares what is going on about in his Country that he wants to make sure Valentino is aware.

Question #2: Why do u think they tell him to call CNN?
